Privacy policy
The short version: BooTrace does not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything the app makes stays on your iPhone.
Who we are
BooTrace is an iPhone app by Orca Kobo. This policy covers the BooTrace app and these BooTrace web pages.
What we collect
Nothing. BooTrace has no account and no sign in, and it does not send your data to us or to anyone else. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, and no third party SDKs.
Camera
BooTrace uses the camera live, on your iPhone, to show your picture over the paper and to find your paper and pencil lines when you tap Re-align. Camera images are never uploaded.
While a drawing is locked, the app keeps a small still frame every couple of seconds on your iPhone so it can make your time lapse. Those frames stay on the device.
Photos you pick
When you trace one of your own photos, BooTrace reads only the photo you pick. Turning it into an outline or a clean outline happens on your iPhone. The photo is never uploaded.
Saving to Photos
BooTrace asks only for permission to add to your photo library. It adds a finished drawing or a time lapse video when you tap Save, and it cannot read or change anything else in your library.
What stays on your iPhone
These are stored in the app’s own storage on your iPhone and nowhere else:
- Your drawings: the picture you traced, where you placed it, time lapse frames and finished videos
- Practice stats: minutes traced and drawings finished, for the practice heat map
- A few settings, such as how dark the picture is shown
Deleting your data
Delete a drawing from My drawings, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, your drawings can be part of that backup, which Apple manages; we have no access to it.
Purchases
BooTrace Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The app checks your purchase with Apple on the device.
Children
BooTrace collects no personal data from anyone, including children. Purchases go through Apple, including Ask to Buy for family accounts.
These web pages
The BooTrace pages on orcakobo.com set no cookies and load no analytics or advertising scripts. Like any website host, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
